Mission Impossible 3 is a 2006 American action spy thriller film written and directed by J.J. Abrams. It is the third installment in the Mission Impossible film series, following 1999s Mission Impossible 2.

The film stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, a secret agent of the Impossible Missions Force (IMF). He must race against time to save his wife, Julia (Michelle Monaghan), from a dangerous arms dealer, Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Along the way, he must also use all of his skills to stop Davian from destroying the world.

The film features numerous action sequences, with Cruise performing many of his own stunts. It also features the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell and Mission Impossible veterans Emilio Estevez and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

The story follows Hunt as he takes on Davian, a ruthless arms dealer who is determined to acquire a mysterious, dangerous chemical weapon called the Rabbits Foot. After Davian successfully acquires the Rabbits Foot, Hunt and his team embark on a globetrotting quest to stop Davian and recover the chemical weapon, with the help of intelligence operative Musgrave (Keri Russell).
