Saw 5 is the fifth installment of the horror franchise that first debuted in 2004. The movie follows Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) as he takes over the mysterious Jigsaws (Tobin Bell) gruesome games of survival. While law enforcement officers investigate Jigsaws possible connection to a string of murders, Hoffman sets out to prove his innocence and protect his legacy.

Meanwhile, five men must take part in a deadly contest set up by Jigsaw, with the winner promised a chance to live. One of them, Hoffmans former apprentice Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) is forced to take part in the game with Hoffman standing by, manipulating the events from the sidelines.

With ever-increasing tension and a plot twist or two, Saw 5 does an impressive job of creating an immersive experience. The film succeeds in capitalizing on the franchises familiar themes of morality, death and retribution, while offering up plenty of grisly violence and gory death scenes.

The films villain proves to be an interesting character, and his complex interactions with Hoffman are sure to keep viewers guessing. Saw 5 also features high production values, making it a great experience for die-hard fans of the series.
