The Killer Inside Me is a 2010 neo-noir crime-drama film directed by Michael Winterbottom and written for the screen by John Curran, based on the 1952 novel of the same name by author Jim Thompson.

The movie follows the story of Lou Ford, a small-town Texas deputy sheriff whose secret past and increasingly unpredictable behavior threaten to unravel his carefully constructed life. Ford is played by Casey Affleck, while Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson and Bill Pullman co-star.

The film follows Ford as he investigates a local prostitutes murder, while at the same time becoming entangled in a deadly web of secrets, lies and his own hidden desires. The movies events take place over five days, with Ford grappling with his guilt, mental illness and the increasing pressure from both those close to him and from the ongoing investigation.
