The Color of Money is a 1986 American drama film directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Richard Price, based on the 1984 novel of the same name by Walter Tevis. A sequel to the 1961 film The Hustler, the film stars Paul Newman reprising his role as "Fast Eddie" Felson, a hustler seeking to establish his own stake in the game of pool. The film also features Tom Cruise, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Helen Shaver.

The film follows Fast Eddie Felsons quest to become the best pool player in the world. With the help of a young protégé, Vincent Lauria (Tom Cruise), they set off on a road trip to hustle their way across the country, facing off with the masters of the game, and winning big. Along the way, Fast Eddies buried ambition surfaces and he begins to reevaluate his life.

The Color of Money was a box-office success and was met with critical acclaim, receiving seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. It was the first film to be released on videocassette in the United States. Newman won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film, his first win after eight prior nominations. The film also earned Cruise a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In a nod to the original film, some of the soundtrack from The Hustler is reused in The Color of Money. The two films also share some of the same characters, including Fast Eddie and his girlfriend Sarah, played by Jackie Gleason in The Hustler, and by Helen Shaver in The Color of Money.
