The Wheel of Time is an upcoming American epic fantasy television series created by Rafe Judkins for Amazon Prime Video, based on Robert Jordans series of novels of the same name. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios and will be distributed by Amazon Prime Video. The series stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, a member of the Aes Sedai, an all-female organization of magic-users, and follows her and five young men and women who are prophesied to play an important role in a coming battle between good and evil. The series also features actors such as Josha Stradowski, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, and Daniel Henney. The first season is expected to consist of 14 episodes, with the first episode set to premiere in 2021. Filming for the first season began in August 2020 in Northern Ireland.
