Loki is an upcoming American television series created for Disney+ by Michael Waldron, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and acknowledges the continuity of the franchises films. The series is produced by Marvel Studios, with Waldron serving as head writer and Kate Herron directing. The title character is portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, reprising his role from the MCU films.
Loki follows the eponymous character after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), where he is arrested by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The TVA is a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline. Loki is assigned to help solve an impending mystery that threatens the timeline. The series also stars Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. It is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 11, 2021.
